In addition to the specific conditions to become one of the three types of Ciett member (national federation, corporate member, associate member), a member must satisfy the following conditions:
- Adhere to the Ciett Constitution and Code of Conduct, to the extent permitted by local law,
- National Association Members shall be organized consistent with a democratic structure, and all Members shall respect the principles of fairness and integrity in accordance with sound business practices.
- Comply with the decisions of the General Assembly and Board,
- Be liable for their subscriptions and other financial commitments to the Confederation and make timely payments thereof,
- Be represented in the Confederation by a Representative.
- Maintain membership in the Regional Associations for which they meet membership requirements.
Application for membership
Applications for membership shall be submitted to the Board, which shall evaluate the applicant’s qualifications for membership and, based on that evaluation, make a recommendation for acceptance or rejection to the next meeting of the General Assembly.
Upon a recommendation by the Board for acceptance of an application for membership, the Applicant shall have the right to attend appropriate meetings of the Confederation as an observer, which right shall terminate if the application for membership is rejected by the General Assembly.
The General Assembly shall state the reasons for its action in the case of a rejection of an application for membership.
