In October 2006, the Ciett General Assembly has adopted an updated version of the Ciett Code of Conduct, which defines the common principles and values shared by all Ciett Members. The Code of Conduct is an excellent illustration of the high quality standards Members of Ciett are committed to achieve when offering their services to companies and job-seekers.
The Code of Conduct is structured in two main sections. The first section of the Code of Conduct includes the common agreed principles, which are shared common principles for conducting the agency work business around the world. These principles built on members’ national codes of conduct as well as international standards for the agency work industry, and include for instance the principle of the prohibition to charge fees to job-seekers, respect of laws, principle of transparency, commitment to safety at work, respect of diversity, respect for fair competition.
The second section is a Charter that stresses the commitment of Ciett members to social responsibility. By adopting this Charter, Ciett members agree to recognise that they are socially responsible employers, and that they meet the following commitments: non discrimination against agency workers, access to training, no fees to be charged to job seekers, no replacement of strikers by agency workers, promotion of social dialogue as an appropriate way to organise the industry.
Information on the codes of conduct of the Ciett members can be obtained on their websites.
