Ciett publishes its Economic Report 2009

Ciett has just published its 2009 Annual Economic Report, based on figures available for 2007. This report is the second of its kind to reveal that the agency work industry is one of the largest private employers in the world today, boasting over 9.5 million workers employed on a daily basis, and global annual sales revenues in excess of € 230 billion.

The report presents in a clear, concise, and comprehensive fashion, the key figures that unveil the importance of the industry, the profile of its players, the positive contribution it provides to better functioning labour markets, and the reasons for its use.

The Ciett Economic Report 2009 highlights the valuable role that agency work plays in facilitating transitions within, and to, the labour market, by helping people and economies adjust to the ongoing globalisation and the current economic crisis. Its purpose is to develop a better understanding, and stronger recognition, of the realities of the agency work industry.
